Painters Studio Branding
I’ve just finished the work on branding stuff, and compiling the packages for you all to test. Here’s the image used in the About dialog.

Ubuntu 9.10 Packages for AMD64 and i386
UPDATE: Shortly after the release of testing packages for Karmic, we have encountered an insurmountable problem with the Debian/Ubuntu packaging system, and subsequently dropped Ubuntu package support. We are very sorry about this. If someone more experienced would like to take on the challenge, please contact foxbunny.
Packages for Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala are being uploaded as I write this. You will find them in our Google Code repository’s download page.
Note that the release version is 0.1-2. This means it’s a pre-release version, and not tested enough for production use. This is mostly aimed at people wanting to test Painters Studio.
Dropping Ubuntu Packaging Support (For Now)
I’m extremely sorry to inform all of you that we are unfortunately not able to provide you with the Ubuntu packages. I’ve had much trouble with the Debian/Ubuntu packaging system, and it currently looks like what we wanted to do with Painters Studio is next to impossible.
Lune Jeans: Spread 3

Here’s the spread I’ve just finished. It’s kinda repeating the thing I’ve done before, but it’s not bad. As usual, done completely in Painters Studio.
Lune Jeans: Spread 4

Just finished the 4th spread. Painters Studio’s working great under the new 64-bit Arch Linux. The shadow on the left model’s face is cast by the semi-transparent band. It’s created by using a magenta-colored layer with Darken layer mode.
Painters Studio Release Delayed
We’re setting a new release date for Painters Studio. The 1.0 Leon is now scheduled for release on 15th of May. I’m sorry about this, but there really isn’t much room in the ‘real life’ for Painters Studio at the moment.
Lune Jeans: Spread 9 - The Fairy
I haven’t show you the entire thing, but here’s the spread 9. I decided to do a more detailed painting to complement a single model.

Fantasy style is for one of the spread in the kids section. The model in the photo is a bit older that what I imagine a ‘kid’ in a catalog would look like, but there you have it. I’m sure you can stretch the definition of the ‘kid’ a bit to enjoy this piece.
David Revoy’s C&E brush kit was of great help in doing this, and enabled me to ‘paint’ an entire forest in about 5 minutes. Of course, the whole spread took a while longer. Timesheet? This piece alone would probably cover the entire budget. Not that I’m charging for all that. It was a good experiment, and well worth the extra unpaid work.
