The Real Acme?

Have you ever hear of the Acme corporation? If you grew up on Warner Bros’ animation like i have, you’ve probably seen a large number of Acme stuff, and you couldn’t really decide if you liked them or not. Since then, I’ve learned that there are other Acme as well, never nearly as popular or imaginary. Today, I bought my first Acme product, ever real, and every useful.

Lately I desperately wanted a set of headphones that would isolate my hearing from the rest of the world. Well, the real target was the set of speakers that are used by my whole family so they can hear their cartoons, Japanese language courses, and whatnot, sitting right next to my laptop, and ruining my attempts to hear music or anime dialogs.

I went to the local computer store, and purchased EUR17,00 headphones (I think that can still count as relatively cheap). Since most of the brands I’ve seen were completely unknown to me, my choice was based on the cushy-looking ear pads, and gold-plated connectors found on only that one model. When I brought it home, it turned out the company behinds this cool gadget is called Acme.

I must admit I’m am actually surprised at the quality of sound. I’m not really an audiophile, but it’s sure nice to have decent sound coming out of a decently well-designed device, especially if it is going to decorate your head for multiple hours a day. The headphones sit a little bit too tight around the head, so I tend to take them off from time to time, but overall, it’s a nice listening experience.

So there you have it, my first real-life Acme product. :)
